It is time to wrap up and look back at the exciting and intense 3rd stage of the Latvian Carp Fishing Championship, which took place from August 23 to 26!
Following the draw, we, team Barons Baits, secured sector 34. This spot was already familiar to us from 2024, when Konstantīns and Deniss landed 229 kg of carp here. However, this year the sector was angled to the right, facing sector 33, occupied by the strong Wenden Brothers team. After careful plumbing and mapping, we managed to identify two promising spots.
Fierce Competition and a Podium Finish
- First Fish: Just like in the second stage, we caught the very first fish of the competition, earning a special prize from our sponsor, Top Care—huge thanks to them!
- Strategy: Our zone was not the most active, so every fish caught was worth its weight in gold. In our strategy, we used a baiting program built around our Sweet Chili boilies, as well as particles—tiger nuts and hemp. In total, we introduced around 80 kg of bait over the course of the tournament.
- Climbing the Leaderboard: During the first couple of days, we held 2nd place before dropping down to 4th. However, thanks to our endurance through the final night and morning, we fought our way back to secure 3rd place!

Now, the biggest and most important event of our carp angling year lies right ahead—the 2026 World Carp Fishing Championship at Lake Mavrovo, North Macedonia, taking place from September 2 to 5. Team Barons Baits will be there representing Latvia.
