The Pinnacle of Competitive Carp Fishing
The global carp angling community is gearing up for the absolute peak of the tournament season. The Macedonian Fishing Federation, in official partnership with the FIPSed, Mavrovo National Park, and the local authorities, has unveiled the official program for the 26th World Carp Fishing Championship.
From September 2nd to September 5th, 2026, the world’s elite carp teams representing over 30 countries will descend upon the spectacular mountain landscapes of North Macedonia to battle for ultimate international glory.

The Venue: Lake Mavrovo – A High-Altitude Carp Paradise
This year’s battleground is nothing short of legendary. Nestled at an astonishing 1,200 meters above sea level within the pristine wilderness of the Mavrovo National Park, Lake Mavrovo stands as one of Europe’s most unique high-altitude fishing venues.
- The Challenge: Surrounded by the towering peaks of the Bistra and Shar mountains, this massive 1953-created artificial lake boasts crystal-clear waters and a highly rich, well-stocked population of cautious, hard-fighting specimen carp.
- The Atmosphere: Anglers will be competing under the watchful gaze of the iconic submerged Church of St. Nikola (built in 1857), creating a breathtaking, deeply atmospheric backdrop for this tactical showdown.
For a premium bait manufacturer and competitive team, high-altitude clear water means one critical thing: uncompromising bait mechanics. In cold, clear mountain waters, your nutritional signals and the visual aspect of the bait spot must work flawlessly to lure fish from extreme depths into your sector.

The Battle Plan: Official Tournament Schedule
The competition follows strict FIPSed international rules, designed to test the endurance, strategy, and precision of every 11-member national delegation.
- August 31 (Monday): Official team registrations and final check-ins at the Sport Hotel Mavrovo.
- September 1 (Tuesday): The high-stakes First Captains’ Meeting and Peg Draw. This is where the tactical game begins, followed by a grand Opening Ceremony at the LeGrand Arena.
- September 2 (Wednesday) – 12:30: The Second Signal. The 72-hour non-stop marathon officially kicks off. From this moment, lines are in the water, and the heavy baiting strategy commences.
- September 5 (Saturday) – 12:30: The Fourth Signal. The end of the competition, followed by a prestigious Award Ceremony and Gala Dinner to crown the new World Champions!
Looking Back, Moving Forward
The stakes couldn’t be higher. The previous 25th World Championship in Đakovo, Croatia (2025) saw an unbelievable display of carp angling prowess, with Moldova claiming the Gold Medal with a staggering total catch weight of 538.8 kg, followed closely by powerhouse nations like England (Silver) and Ukraine (Bronze).
The high standards set in Croatia are bound to be broken in the deep waters of Mavrovo. Teams will need highly optimized feed programs — ranging from rich, fast-acting sweet profiles to heavy fishmeal/krill nutritional bases — to establish dominance over the 72-hour pressure cooking session.
Are Your Baits Ready for the World Stage?
Competing at this level leaves zero room for error or second-guessing. When the pressure is immense and the fish are heavily pressured by 33 elite nations, the mechanical breakdown of your boilies, the dusting cloud effect of your groundbaits, and the amino acid profile of your hookbaits are what dictate a screaming take.
As we count down the days to Macedonia 2026, the key to success lies on the lakebed. Make sure your long-range tactics and high-altitude bait selection are fully locked in.
See you on the banks of Lake Mavrovo! 🎣🏆
